Finn Gold Cup 2013 will be held at Tallinn Kalev Yacht Club in Tallinn Olympic Sailing Center, located in Pirita on the coast of Tallinn Bay.

Tallinn Olympic Sailing Centre was built for the 1980 Tallinn Olympic Regatta. It is a 7-10-minute drive from city centre and has full facilities for a pleasurable sailing experience, including a hotel. Sailors usually find it exceptional that our courses are only 10-15 minutes sailing from shore. The courses have spectacular views of the Tallinn city siluette on one side and Pirita beaches and forests on the other side.

The Kalev Yacht Club is on the left bank of the River Pirita near its mouth, and is one of the oldest and most respectable clubs of its kind in Estonia. The club was founded in 1947, and two years later its clubhouse was opened. You can read more about Kalev Yacht Club here.

Boat park area, close to the trailer park, is separated and guarded and with a capacity for 150 boats. It has three boat slips for sailors, coach boat slip and fuel station. There are restaurants and cafes at site. A 5-minute walk will take you to large supermarket (4100m2), banks and post office. Pirita Harbour Caravan Camping is located on the site. The camping has all necessary washing facilities, water and electricity supply, also garbage dumps places and filling station. For prices and booking please click here.

The Olympic Sailing Centre is at Tallinn Bay, which is a closed bay in the Gulf of Finland. The winds tend to be shifty and gusty winds, except when offshore. Wave height is max 2m. Majority of days are great for sailing and risk of a race day on shore is very low. Tallinn Olympic Sailing Centre regularly hosts regattas, including major title championships:

  • 2010 European Championships & Trophy for Laser Standard and Laser Radial
  • 2010 World Championships Melges 24
  • 2007 World Championships Formula Junior and Women
