Physiotherapy students work out with the Spanish Olympic Team
The Trainee students of the Physiotherapy Gimbernat school, under the supervision of three physiotherapists, one athletic trainer and physician of the Spanish Olympic Team
The Olympic Team responsible will oversee the work of the students in different areas
Physiotherapy Gimbernat-Cantabria School students will work as trainees in the en Santander 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships close to the physiotherapist and medical personnel of the Spanish Olympic Team. This will allow the students to develop their work in the elite of International sailing, a great oportunity to show their skills and learn from the professionals.
The responsable of the Olympic Team will supervise the students work in different areas. With Luis Morales in charge and three physiotherapist will take care of the injuries. The trainer, Diego Quintana will take care of the stretching excersices meanwhile Mari Carmen Vaz will be the responsable for the feeding, hydration and nutrition.
Students will be the responsable of those countries with less resources and do not have a physiotherapist in their staff. “The Olympic Team is with us and countries like Australia, France, England will have their own. They will dedicate to those countries that have less money and have no 'physios' " he says.
The most common injuries the students will face in are muscle strain in the back and shoulder or tendon injuries in hands, wrists and elbow.
