Changes in the management of Santander 2014

The management of the organization of the Santander 2014 ISAF World Championships will be, from this very moment on, assumed directly by the staff of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation.

This decision has been taken for organizational and budgetary reasons and it is fully supported by the institutions participating in the Organizing Committee, as well as the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), which holds the event. It has been decided that the present management of the Spanish Federation replaces the previously planned organizational chart of the event, which included new staff hiring by the organs.

Consequently, the President of the organizing committee of the World Championships and Head Chief of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) Jose Ángel Rodriguez Santos, will immediately become Managing Director of the event; working together with Alejandro Abascal García as his deputy. Abascal is the current director of the High Performance Centre (CEAR ) that manages the RFEV in Santander, which is the city hosting the championships.

With this organization chart, wich will be implemented with the organizational structure of the RFEV, it is intended to reinforce the organization of the Championships that are to be held in the city of Santander in September.
