The 2012 Finn Gold Cup

Organised by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, the 2012 Finn Gold Cup will be sailed in the wide expanses of Falmouth Bay between the 13th and 18th of May, preceded by registration/measurement on the 11th and 12th. A total of 11 races will be sailed, comprising a series of normally 2 races per day for 5 days followed, on the sixth and final day, by a “Medal Race” featuring the top 10 placed competitors and a final race for competitors not in the Medal Race. The Medal Race will count for double-points, will be non-discardable, and will be umpired. The final top 10 positions in the championship will be filled by the boats in the Medal Race irrespective of how other competitors score in the final fleet race.

In winds over 15 knots, the course configuration will be windward/leeward/triangle, finishing at the end of the second reach. In winds below 15 knots the course configuration will be windward/leeward, finishing at the leeward mark.

The target time for each race will be 75 minutes.

The regatta will be centred at the Falmouth Watersports Centre. Boats will be berthed on the Falmouth Harbour Commissioners boat park in front of the Watersports Centre.
