What to Do Around Takapuna and the North Shore
Takapuna Boating Club is located at Takapuna Beach on Auckland’s North Shore. The North Shore has many beaches and parks including Torbay and Murrays Bay to the North and Narrowneck Beach to the south plus Long Bay Regional Park.
Within 5 Minutes walk is the Takapuna shopping centre including supermarkets, restaurants, cafe’s and bars to cater for all tastes..
Further afield the area is also blessed with some great golf courses including Waitemata, North Shore, Pupuke and the Takapuna Public Golf course and Driving range. Or if you’re missing the northern winter you can go skiing at Snow Planet north of Albany. www.snowplanet.co.nz
If you’re a cyclist the North Shore is a great place. Many roads have dedicated cycling lanes and although not flat provides for a great variety of cycling destinations or training opportunities.
For those with families, there are shopping centres in Milford, Wairau Park and Albany that includes a movie complex to keep your family or yourselves entertained. Central Auckland is only a 15 minute car ride away or alternatively buses or a ferry from Devonport that drops you at the bottom end of Queen Street.
From here you can visit a host of shops, cafes, bars, museums, and other attractions which make Auckland a world renowned city.
