The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club are delighted with the progress of the JP Morgan Assett management Gold Cup for Finn dinghies over the past three days. It is extremely important to host yacht clubs who run these major championships that the competing sailors are content with race organisation and shoreside facilities and most of all there is a fun atmosphere through the fleet despite this championship for the Finn Gold Cup being the most keenly contested sailing event in the World. This seems to be the case here in Falmouth despite unseasonal cold weather of the past few days and the interaction between the fleet sailors and the volunteers running the event seems to be friendly and cordial. The volunteers from RCYC and the supporting personel from other organistions are working hard and appear also appear to be having fun with the fleet sailors – it makes me happy and proud that this major event here in Falmouth is up and running well after four years of planning.

So thank you Finn sailors from accross the World for coming here and showing us such high quality racing right through your fleet. Thank you all volunteers for working so hard to enable the event to succeed.
